The first draft of AWWD II is complete and is being edited now. It is currently 175,000 words (over 75% longer than the first book). Stay tuned!
Well, book 2 is well under way! I continue to fall deeper into the storyline and into the minds of the characters. Yes, I start living the story in my mind. Right now I am working on a dramatic scene that takes place outside of Rutland, Vermont in December, 2032. As I write book 2, I have decided to actively seek a literary agent, which will help in many ways going forward.
The excitement is growing as I continue to receive very positive feedback regarding book 1. Several press releases have been sent recently which will hopefully result in some good coverage about the book. The book has also been provided to Ocean County Library for their review. The book has been reviewed on Novelspot.net, and was given 8 stars (out of 10). The review can be viewed on their site. Also note that there are some positive reviews on Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com. There will hopefully be even more reviews soon, notably in newspapers.
I am currently attempting to set up some local book signings and more information will be forthcoming shortly. I have already participated as a guest author for a book club (thank you Felicia, and you too Steve and Eileen) and I am in discussions regarding setting up a few more such engagements.
Thanks everybody and take care.
AWWD is highlighted in the www.rushisaband.com update posted 4/3/09. This is best Rush fan site I have seen (and may be the best fan site I have seen- period). You really should check it out. Many thanks to Ed Stenger, the site administrator, who read AWWD and liked it enough to put up a post, and to facilitate the giveaway of 3 free books on the site.
I am working on AWWD II right now (the rough outline has been done for some time now) and my excitement builds the more I work on it. The web keeps expanding and at that point I don’t want to put it down for a second! Stay tuned.
